I WANT TO BE RECRUITED |
|
|
March 8, 2006
MONDAY, March 13th from 6-8pm at CSM! 8pm practice people will be able to get out for practice.
All Premier Club members interested in being recruited for college
volleyball are encouraged to attend. It's not too early to think about your
college options - recommended for parents who's players are 15 & Up.
This has been a successful seminar
and answers many questions that may come up in your quest for a college
scholarship. Since many qualifiers are coming up and many coaches
will be watching, this is a great time to get educated!!
Parents are highly encouraged to come with your daughter(s)...
E-mail Trish at tsiedlik@CSM.edu by Friday, Mar 10th to reserve your seat.
NOTE: If you are having problems getting through or have not received a
confirmation from Coach Siedlik about the recruiting seminar, please email
her at her home account.. tsiedlik@cox.net. CSM has spammed most
hotmail and yahoo accounts. Sorry for the inconvenience!

18 Black's Ford Signs with CSM |
|
|
February 9, 2006
Head Volleyball Coach Trish Siedlik announced Wednesday that Alysha
Ford from Papillion LaVista South High School has signed on with the
Flames program. Ford was a three year varsity letter winner for the
volleyball program coached by Gwen Egbert. Alysha was elected captain her
senior year. She also is a member of the tennis team for the Titans.
"Alysha is coming from one of the toughest and technically sound programs
in the state. She has learned both the physical and mental demands of
a top program. We felt that Alysha was a great fit with her size
standing at about 5'11" to suit our needs in the front row," commented
Siedlik. Alysha is a member of the Premier Volleyball Club and will join
fellow club members Amanda Cook (Bellevue East) and Rachel Muller
(Millard North) for the class of 2006. Ford has been on the honor roll for
the last three years and will be entering the nursing program next fall.
The Flames finished last year 35-8 and will set their sights on the
2006 National Tournament held in Columbia, Missouri.
Congrats Alysha!!

18 Gold's Nisi Signs with MLC |
|
|
January 31, 2006
Head Volleyball Coach Kristen Lebeda has announced that Rachel Nisi, Premier 18 Gold, of Omaha, Neb. has signed a letter-of-intent to join the Midland Volleyball Program. Nisi, a three year starter for Daniel J. Gross High School, was a key contributor on the Cougar’s Class B State Championship Team last fall.
Lebeda, in her 2nd year as the Warriors Head Coach, is excited about the winning tradition as well as talents and abilities that Nisi brings to Midland.
“Rachel is a smart yet powerful hitter,” Lebeda commented. “She has shown tremendous growth over the last two years and we are excited by how she will continue to develop at Midland.”
Along with her experiences at Omaha Gross, Nisi has played in other high level competition among top Junior Olympic Volleyball teams. Among her experiences are trips to the Junior Olympic National Championships in 2002 and 2004.
Lebeda is excited about how these experiences have developed and equipped Nisi to play at the collegiate level.
Lebeda said, “Even in pressure situations, Rachel knows how to put the ball away. She is an aggressive player and brings a lot of enthusiasm to the court. I think Rachel will be a great addition to our program.”
Nisi plans to major in Biology at Midland. She is Midland’s second volleyball recruit to sign a letter-of-intent.
Congrats Rachel!!

Xplosive Edge / Volleyball practice last week.
Her pants are navy blue with white stripes down the sides. They are nylon pants-size 12.
Somebody may have accidentally picked them up or put them into someone else's bag close by.
Your help is appreciated! If the pants are found email Michelle at premier_vb@yahoo.com
Thanks!

January 7 Clinic and apparel pick up |
|
|
December 29, 2005 (Updated January 5, 2006)
*** LOCATION CHANGE, SEE BELOW ***
Mandatory Rules Clinic for all coaches and players (parents
optional but recommended) on Saturday, Jan 7th. We will have our
club rules clinic at the Gross Auditorium on
CSM campus (South of Lied Center on East side of Campus). Entry
is on northwest corner of building.
Uniform and Apparel pick up at Student Center, CSM campus (same building where we held parent's meeting) 3:00 to 4:30 in
lower level.
All coaches are required to attend a rules clinic every year. If
you attended a rules clinic in conjunction with an Impact Clinic then you
don't have to be at this one but it would be helpful if you were there to
assist with the test for your players.
It is helpful for the younger age groups if we also have a few parents that understand scorekeeping and can assist at tournaments when needed.
We will start promptly at 1:00 so please be on time.

2005-2006 Premier 18 Gold - College Commitments |
|
|
November 21, 2005 (Updated Jan 31, 2006)
Congratulations to the following 18 Gold players:
Rachel Nisi - Midland Lutheran College
Head Volleyball Coach Kristen Lebeda has announced that Rachel Nisi of Omaha, Neb. has signed a letter-of-intent to join the Midland Volleyball Program.
(MLC web site)
Michaela Kneip - University of Nebraska at Kearney
Nebraska-Kearney head volleyball coach Rick Squiers announced Thursday, Nov 17th that Michaela Kniep signed a national letter of intent to play for the Lopers next season.
Kneip (5'7") played for former Loper graduate assistant coach Jessica Jeseritz at Millard South. A four-year letterwinner in volleyball, and also a member of the basketball and track teams, she averaged 8.7 assists and 1.2 aces per game as a senior.
Kneip earned honorable mention all-state honors last season, as well as all-metro accolades.
"Michaela has experience in both the setter and defensive specialist
positions. She is used to playing against top flight competition at the
Class A level and will fit in well with our system having played for Coach Jeseritz," said Squiers. (NTV web site)
Rachel Muller - College of Saint Mary
Head Coach Trish Siedlik is pleased to announce
the signing of the first recruit for 2006. Rachel Muller, a Millard North
standout decided to play for the Flames. Rachel is a two sport athlete in volleyball
and basketball earning All Metro and All State Honorable Mention honors in 2004. She led her
team to the semifinals of the State High School Volleyball Tournament this last season. Muller is the
fifth player from the Premier Volleyball Club organization. "Rachel is an athlete that has in a
way just begun her athletic career in volleyball. She has so much more to offer and we are happy
that we will get to work with that talent. She can make an impact for us right away next season,"
said Siedlik. Rachel was also a member of the Academic All State team. (CSM web site)
Amanda Cook - College of Saint Mary
Head Coach Trish Siedlik is pleased to announce the signing of their
second recruit for 2006. Amanda Cook, a Bellevue East standout signed last Friday, Nov 18th with the Flames.
Amanda played four sports, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track, for the Chieftains earning
First Team All-Metro and Second Team All State honors in 2004. She led her team to two State High
School Volleyball Tournament appearances under head coach Robyn Cascio Jensen, including a semifinal
finish this last season. Cook played for the Bellevue Juniors Club organization up until this season.
She will be playing for the top 18's team for Premier Volleyball Club, making Amanda the sixth player from Premier to play for CSM.
Amanda has been on the honor
roll all four years at East, National Honor Society member her junior and senior year. "Amanda is an
addition to the program that not only will help us on the leftside of the court, but for the future as
well. She is a highly respected player that other players in the area played against and enjoyed her
presence on the court. We are very excited to have her and her family be a part of us and continue the
tradition," said Siedlik. (CSM web site)

The 16 Gold Challenge - Results |
|
|
November 28, 2005 (Updated December 5, 2005)
Ok Pizza fans, the final results have
been calculated. And the big winner is The Omaha Food Pantry of course.
It was a very generous offering from the best volleyball club in the region.
A grand total of 649 items were collected and will be delivered to the food pantry
on Monday. In the contest for the pizza party by the team with the most contributions,
the teams with 50 or more items were:
17 Gold 50 items
13 Black 52 items
13 Gold 56 items
16 Black 91 items
15 Gold 105 items
16 Gold 122 items
and the Pizza Party Dream Team is...
12 BLACK 135 items
Again thanks to everyone for the effort and showing why Premier Volleyball is #1.
Now I must go find a pair of running shoes. I will make every effort to run the laps each
team is responsible for during their practice sessions.
Dave Chalupa (aka Forest Gump)
The 16 Gold team would like to challenge all other Premier teams to a food drive contest. We as a club have plenty to be thankful for and can show our appreciation by collecting all the non-perishable goods we can for the local food pantry.
Need a little motivation?
Premier volleyball will provide a "pizza party" to the team that gathers the most total items. We will be collecting all items during this weekends practices, Dec 3rd & 4th.
Looking for a little more motivation?
For every item donated, Coach Chalupa of the 16 Gold will run one lap around the CSM jogging track. “I especially challenge all the past and current players that I have had the privilege of working with. I was able to make you run, now it’s your turn.”
Give it your best shot. Go ahead, what have you got to lose. I dare you!

Champions of Character Summit |
|
|
August 23, 2005 (Updated September 16, 2005)
The Summit - September 22, 2005
Coaches, Parents and Players: This is the best way to reach a large audience and to bring together coaches and students from
the community to hear Champions of Character messages and their positive effects on the culture
of sport. The NAIA’s Bruce Brown and Rob Miller will be keynote speakers at the summit for
teams, clubs, and organizations that wish to lead youth in changing the culture of
sports in our community. The themes of This is the NAIA, Coaching for Significance,
Teaching Character Through Sport, Defining the Term “Athlete,” and the Role of
Parents in Youth Sports will be presented. The Summit will also illustrate how the
CSM Program Center can benefit participants’ schools and organizations.
All Premier parents are invited to attend a special session by NAIA
presenter Bruce Brown on "The Positive Role of Parents in Youth Sports."
This will be held in conjunction with CSM's Champions of Character
Summit on Thursday, September 22 from 7-8pm in the Hillmer Art Gallery on
campus.
Parents across the nation have said this one message so positively
influenced the relationship between themselves and their child that a
better sports experience was created for everybody.

VOLLEYBALL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY |
|
|
June 20, 2005 (Updated July 6, 2005)
ATTENTION CLASS OF 2005 ATTENDING COLLEGE Great Plains member Kevin Wills has participated in volleyball for many years.
He has played, coached, & officiated for so many years in the region that we’ve lost count.
Now he wants to "give back" to someone else. This year he’s taken all of the money he made from
officiating at regional tournaments and has created a scholarship for a Great Plains member that
is a graduating senior. This Great Plains player must be planning to attend college, but does not
have to play volleyball while in college. The scholarship is worth $500.
Applications are due to the region office by August 1, 2005.
The winner will be announced and notified on September 1, 2005.
