After graduating high school in 2009, Mike was a part of the NAIA collegiate program at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa for two years as a setter/defensive specialist. While at Clarke, he contributed to Clarke's NAIA National Championships appearance.

Mike moved to Sioux Falls/Vermillion, South Dakota in 2012 and spent two years immersing himself into as much volleyball as possible, playing with athletes from Augustana College (Sioux Falls), the University of South Dakota (Vermillion), and a men's competitive travel team (NAGVA).

In 2014, Mike moved to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha, majoring in Industrial-Organizational psychology. He has played on the men's club volleyball team at UNO since then, playing the roles of setter, outside hitter, and libero. As a veteran member of the club team, Mike's leadership and knowledge of the game has helped boost the Mavericks to conference and national recognition, as the UNO club team finished second in the 2016 men's National Club Volleyball tournament.

Mike is a self-proclaimed student of the game and uses every opportunity to play and watch volleyball as a chance to improve skills, communication, and court awareness. He is eager to get started with Premier and to share his love of the game with the talented group of athletes the Omaha area offers.
