Hanus Named PrepVolleyball.com Academic All-American

Posted on February 9th, 2016

Congratulations to Premier 18 Gold's libero, Andie Hanus who was named to the PrepVolleyball.com 2015 High School Academic All-American team. Hanus was one of just eight Class of 2016 volleyball athletes in the nation to receive First Team recognition!

Congratulations Andie, your Premier family is proud!

Below is what PrepVolleyball had to say about Hanus and why she was selected:

Volleyball players, as a whole, are a talented lot who excel both on the court and in the classroom. Here are the best of the best at combining big brains and athletic brawn, our 2015 PrepVolleyball.com High School Volleyball Academic All American list.

Andie Hanus, 5-9 DS, Marian (Omaha, Nebraska) - Part of a ridiculously good defensive duo for the nationally-ranked Crusaders, is it any wonder they won three straight Nebraska Class A titles? Hanus, who will play at Missouri, was HM All-State in 2015 after recording 298 digs and 55 aces. In the classroom, Hanus is a superstar, ranking in the top eight percent of her class with a 4.27 GPA. She is a National Merit Commended Student and a Wendy's High School Heisman State Finalist in Nebraska who scored 35 on her ACT. She is a math tutor, an officer in Rho Kappa Honor Society, a member of NHS and is on the Student Board at Marian High. Plan on calling her "Dr. Andie" in the near future, as she'll be Pre-Med at Missouri.

Crandall is Finalist for Andi Collins Award

Posted on January 27, 2016

Premier 18 Gold's setter, Taylor Crandall, has been named as a finalist for the 2015 Andi Collins Award given annually by PrepVolleyball.com to the top Senior setter in the nation.

Taylor is one of 73 seniors from across the country to be selected as finalists.

In 2015, Taylor (Papillion-LaVista South) was named to the All-Nebraska First Team and All-Metro First Team. She also was selected to play in the 2016 Nebraska Coaches Association Girls' Volleyball All-Stars match.

In 2015, Taylor led the state of Nebraska with 1,326 assists and added 245 digs and 21 aces in helping her team to 35-7 season.

Andi Collins wanted to be the best setter in the nation. Cancer ended that dream Sept. 4, 2003, a month shy of her 17th birthday. The Andi Collins Award, presented in her honor and memory, recognizes the best senior setter in the nation

Taylor is committed to play for Nebraska Wesleyan in the Fall.

Premier Volleyball Partners with Special Olympics

Posted on May 3rd, 2016

Premier Volleyball and the Special Olympics Nebraska are now in their 9th year together!!

Premier Volleyball began it's relationship with the Special Olympics in 2008 through the Premier Volleyball Golf Outing. Through our involvement with the Special Olympics we have been able to donate proceeds from the Premier Golf Outing as well as provide the SONE (Special Olympics Nebraska) athletes with officials and volunteers for their Summer Games! Again, we are asking all players, parents and coaches to be involved in volunteering for the upcoming events.

Mark your calendars!!

Saturday, May 14th 11:00am-1:00pm (The Courts) - Premier Volleyball will host the Special Olympics of Nebraska Volleyball Clinic at The Courts. Premier players will assist with drills and games for SONE Athletes, and join them for refreshments! Coaches and parents will assist with check-in, monitoring courts and refreshments.

Wednesday, May 18th 5:30pm-9:00pm (Kiewit Fitness Center: CU) - Premier Volleyball will provide the officials, scorekeepers, line judges and awards for the SONE Summer Games at the Kiewit Fitness Center on the Creighton University campus. Players, coaches and parents will be assigned to the various responsibilities.

Team Parents - If you could please help us out and spread the word to your team we would REALLY appreciate it!

Please reply to Shannon Smolinski at shannon.smolinski@yahoo.com by Thursday, April 28th.
Include the following:
Name of volunteer(s)
Premier Team
Date available: May 14th and/or May 18th
T-shirt size (shirts will be provided by SONE for the May 18th event only: S, M, L, XL or XL)

All volunteers will be asked to wear Premier Gear to both events. Volunteers for the May 18th events will receive SONE t-shirts upon arrival and can change into those. Just a reminder to have Premier gear in case sizes are limited.

We appreciate your involvement in this great partnership!

Position Specific Training

Posted November 16th, 2015 (Updated November 25th)

We will be running Position Specific Training throughout the season. Shannon Smolinski, Director of Player Development, will be running these sessions along with other Premier coaches specializing in those areas. These sessions are designed for players who have chosen a position or want to increase their level of experience and expertise. The training is for athletes who want to take their ability of play to the next level.

- Setters Training: Mondays; No Registration. See Calendar for dates. NOTE: This is specific to setters ONLY.

- Position Training: Training will begin the week of November 30th. Position Training Registration

You must register online for Position Training in order to attend! No Walk-Ins! All training sessions will be open to the first 30 players who sign up! Registration will open up Sunday evening at 8:00 pm before each training session. The reason we wait to open them Sunday evenings is to give those who are in tournaments on Sundays the chance to register.

All Position Training sessions are open to Premier Players only and are included in your fees!

Email Shannon if you have any questions!

Xplosive Edge and Premier Volleyball

Designed specifically for Premier Volleyball athletes since 2005, the Xplosive Edge has teamed up with Premier to create the superior power athlete. Trained on site at our "Courts" satellite facility, premier athletes can train immediately before or after practice with X-edge. The Xplosive Edge satellite facility at The Courts is the Midwest's premier training facility for volleyball athletes. Equipped with Power Lift and Hammer Strength equipment, the courts satellite facility is nicer than most of the universities in the nation.

Emphasis is put on increasing strength, balance, agility, and range of motion, all while developing more power. These Premier Volleyball athletes are increasing their vertical jumps while at the same time learning how to jump and land on the ground as well as accelerate and decelerate. Plyometrics are included in our training regimen only when the athlete has become strong enough to control their bodies in space.

The courts training facility is exclusively for the use of the Xplosive Edge in its training of Premier Volleyball. Premier Volleyball is one of the nations best volleyball clubs and is on the rise. Since the inception of Xplosive Edge working with Premier Volleyball, Premier has increased its winning percentage by over 66% all while decreasing the injury rate by over 88%. This last year Premier Volleyball sent 8 teams to the USA volleyball championships!

Premier athletes are trained twice a week (45 min. sessions) right before or after their practice. Each athlete is pre and post performance tested to see their own individual performance index score created by Boyd Epley of Epic Athletic Performance.

This is Premier Nebraska Volleyball!

We have the focus, drive, passion, character, discipline, confidence, power, determination and HEART!!!!! This is Premier Volleyball.....
